Professional Bio

Melissa Lodge, MS is a doctoral student at the University of Rhode Island researching the influence of low energy availability (via exercise and nutrition) on markers of health and performance, specifically in female athletes across the lifespan. She is interested in designing effective, evidence-based programs to reduce the risk of LEA/REDs and ED/DE in sports. Melissa Lodge is a research collaborator of the Female Athlete Program of Boston Children's Hospital in Boston, MA. Ms. Lodge is an active member of the  American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). She is active within the New England Chapter of ACSM. She has presented her work at several regional, national, and international conferences featuring work in female athletes on low energy availability outcomes.
