Professional Bio

Lisa Olive (M.Clin Psych, PhD) is the co-leader of the Behavioural Medicine Unit at the Centre for Social & Early Emotional Development, Deakin University, a Senior Research Fellow with the Clinical Trials Unit, at the Institute for Mental and Physical Health and Clinical Translation, Deakin University and an Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the Elite Sport and Mental Health Research Unit, Orygen and the Centre for Youth Mental Health, The University of Melbourne. Lisa’s focus is on supporting world-class mental health research and its effective translation into practice to optimise early interventions and models of care that are offered to young people experiencing mental ill-health. Lisa’s primary research expertise include mental health and wellbeing in elite and professional sportspeople, building the capacity of community sports organisations to respond to the mental health needs of their young sports participants/players, and the relationship between physical activity and mood and anxiety disorders in young people. She has collaborated with a range of professional and elite sporting organisations in Australia and is one of the Subject Matter Expert’s (Mental Health) for Sport Integrity Australia's National Integrity Framework Short Course.
